World motorsport personality David Richards joins AeroMobil board of advisors

Recently added to AeroMobil’s growing list of A-list board of advisors is David Richards; founder of UK based world-leading motorsport and technology business, Prodrive. Mr. Richards will be a key asset in staying relevant with the latest technologies, while also helping generate connections to industry investors.

The current roster of AeroMobil’s board of advisors includes Anthony Sheriff - former MD of McLaren Automotive, Glenn Mercer who spent two decades at the McKinsey as an automotive specialist partner, and world-class inventor and advocate for new technology, Dean Kamen. Together they create a collective force of industry leaders that contribute insurmountable knowledge in the areas of research, product development, regulatory affairs, and product positioning.

As AeroMobil grows, the board of advisor’s influence naturally increases. With the support of the board, the overarching goal becomes to accelerate development to its highest probability of success. These experienced industry experts seek to help AeroMobil achieve their goal of revolutionizing the personal transportation industry by making it vastly more efficient, environmentally-friendly, and exciting by combining the best of a car, plane and computer technologies in a single vehicle – the flying car. With Mr. David Richards’s agreement to become a member of the board of advisors in August 2016, AeroMobil takes one step closer to seeing this dream come to fruition.

With Mr. Richards help we will be even more capable of developing technologies that can be leveraged and monetized in other areas, including more conventional aerospace and automotive industries. His experience and vast expert knowledge of the industry is already proving to be an accelerator in our development.” – said Juraj Vaculik, co-founder, and CEO of AeroMobil.

David Richards, CBE (Commander of British Empire), founded Prodrive in 1984 and acted as a chairman of Aston Martin. He is one of the most respected figures in world motorsport. Mr. Richards has been instrumental in establishing Prodrive as a world-leading motorsport and technology business. He has also led two F1 teams – Benetton and BAR - as team principal and in the latter led the team to second place in the F1 Constructors’ World Championship in 2004. Today, he is actively involved in all aspects of the Prodrive group and works closely with the board to develop the business strategy, supporting the executive team in its new business activity.

About AeroMobil

AeroMobil is a leader in mobility in three dimensions with a vision to liberate personal mobility from the ground and into the skies. AeroMobil develops the most flexible, capable and efficient range of personal aerial vehicles (PAVs) designed for door to door travel in intra and inter-urban environments, reducing congestion and emissions while increasing proximity and convenience for citizens, cities and society.

AeroMobil is pioneering the development and commercialisation of flying cars, developing cutting edge technology to produce a range of vehicles for short take-off and landing (STOL) and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). This includes electric propulsion systems, battery technology and control systems for piloted and autonomous flight for transportation on the ground and in the air to support short and longe range personal air travel with eVTOLs.

AeroMobil adopts an iterative approach to the development of personal air transportation in line with technology readiness, legislation and market acceptance. We believe the future offers unbounded opportunity for air mobility at scale but requires a pragmatic and considered approach to ensure technology and solutions implemented are safe, reliable and effective through partnership and collaboration with regulators, governments and cities to realise the benefits of all.

The first flying car from AeroMobil provides increased flexibility and versatility for the customer as it combines the best of automotive and aerospace technology into one vehicle while respecting the limits of current technology and the regulatory environment. It is the first step in our journey towards air Mobility-as-a-service (aMaaS) which will make personal transportation vastly more efficient and environmentally friendly by allowing significantly faster door-to-door travel over short and medium distances, and in areas with limited road or public transport infrastructure.
